A warm welcome to Eve Silver! She has offered an exclusive excerpt from Sins of the Flesh—her latest release from HQN–just for the Princess Blog Party!
Bio:
National bestselling author Eve Silver has been praised for her “edgy, steamy, action-packed” books, darkly sexy heroes and take-charge heroines. Her work has garnered starred reviews from Publishers Weekly and Library Journal, plus RT Book Reviews Reviewers’ Choice Awards, and in 2007 she received Library Journal’s Best Genre Fiction Award.
A bit about Sins of the Flesh:
The blood of the Underworld lord of evil runs through soul reaper Malthus Krayl’s veins. Raised to fight for survival and to kill for victory, he can destroy anyone who poses a threat. As he searches for the one responsible for his brother’s murder, he refuses to succumb to any distraction…until his sworn enemy crosses his path and tempts him beyond all reason.
Calliope Kane, a Daughter of Aset, has a personal hatred for soul reapers. Their savage attack against her family still haunts her. But only Malthus can help her find the traitors of her kind, and only she can help him hunt the source of betrayal amongst the reapers. As they unite, the danger grows closer…and the passion between them ignites.
Exclusive excerpt from Sins of the Flesh:

They were a foot apart now. He reached out, closed his hand on the open car door, and slowly pushed it shut. Which brought him closer still, his body flush with hers, mere inches between them.
Something stirred in her expression in the fleeting, unguarded instant before she slammed it down and corralled it. Attraction. He’d seen it. And something else. Rage. Hate. Utter and complete revulsion.
Damn.
She was attracted to him and didn’t want to be.
“You know, I find the thought of the Reverend’s naked ass on my brand new, pristine leather pretty repulsive,” he said, his gaze dropping to her mouth. Pretty pink lips, full and lush, just begging to be kissed. He leaned a little closer. “You’ve killed—or at the least, forever tainted—my driving enjoyment of this vehicle.”
That earned him a dismissive snort, and the flat toned suggestion, “Then buy a new car, soul reaper.” Her gaze dipped to his mouth, and he felt a momentary thrill of success before her next words squelched it. “And if you move even a millimeter closer, I will bite you. Not merely hard enough to draw blood. Hard enough to tear a chunk of flesh from your face.”
The words were at odds with the musical sound of her voice, like water flowing over smooth rocks. For a second, he didn’t register her meaning, and when he did, he blinked, withdrew, and looked into those gorgeous cat-green eyes. Cold as a glacier lake.
Like a bolt from the sky, the realization hit him that while he was sparring—flirting, really—she wasn’t. She was dead serious.
He was playing the game of approach and retreat, two steps forward, one step back.
But he was playing it alone. She genuinely despised him to the marrow of her bones.
“It might be worth it,” he murmured.
Her gaze snapped back to his. Tension hummed between them.
One dark brow lifted a fraction of an inch. Her pupils dilated. Her posture stiffened.
He leaned closer and brushed his lips over hers. It was the most chaste—and the briefest—kiss he’d ever had. Barely a kiss at all. But he felt it zing through him like an electric charge.
With a gasp, she pulled back at the same instant he did, the two of them recoiling like magnets of the same charge.
For a split second, he thought he read many things in her eyes. Anger. Confusion. Perhaps a little bit of attraction.
Her expression locked down, her lips parted, and he thought she actually might bite him.
Or kiss him back.
Hard to tell.

The best book I’ve trad in the last month was The Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase. I could not put this book down. I loved it. Maybe I liked it so much because I was expecting to not like it. If you have not read this book you definetely should.
Best book of the month… that is hard.. have read a lot of good books. I would have to say Eternal Hunger by Laura Wright or When Blood Calls by JK Beck….and of course Sin of the Heart by Eve Silver, but it has been over a month since I read that one… 😉
Love you Eve!!!
Nice to meet Eve here, she’s a new author to me!
Currently reading Courtney Milan’s Proof by Seduction and can’t put it down!
Thanks for dropping by to say hello. Wow! Lots of great reads listed here…keep ’em coming 🙂
Thanks for the exclusive excerpt Eve! I’m adding your books to my wishlist. I’m all for reading books with… ‘“edgy, steamy, action-packed” books, darkly sexy heroes and take-charge heroines.’ The best book I’ve read this past month would have to be (and there were a couple of them) The Viper Prince by Rebecca Goings. It is a really visually stunning book. Not to mention there is a very hot (and I don’t just mean by temp) desert Prince in the story as well:)

I have so many of your books on my keeper shelf, Eve – the Sins of books are going to be right there as well. Best book this month . . . that’ such a hard question. I’d say Awakened by a Kiss but wasn’t this month.:) Nor was Sins of the Heart. Right now I’m reading Nalini Singh’s Bonds of Justice and like all the books in her series, it’s hard to put down. Carolyn
I really enjoyed Jennifer Haymore’s trilogy: A Hint of Wicked, A Touch of Scandal and A Season of Seduction.

I can’t decide which of Gena Showalter’s Lord of the Underworld series I liked best. I read them in 8 days three weeks ago… That sounds kinda scary! I can safely say it wasn’t The Darkest Lie. 🙂
OOps. Forgot to add, I’m going over to buy Sins of the Flesh now. Loved the excerpt. ~Skhye
Thanks, everyone for popping by and for offering up titles of awesome reads. Some, I’m familiar with. Others are new to me and I’ll have to check them out!
@Skhye, thanks for heading over to buy Sins of the Flesh. Just want to make sure you know it’s #3 in a trilogy.
Also, for any who missed it…the prequel, Sin’s Daughter, is available for free right now from Borders.com and amazon.com!
Hot excerpt! I really want to read the books now 🙂
Best book I’ve read this month is probably Kristin McCloy’s “Hollywood Savage”. Still in the middle of it, but I can tell it’s a real keeper!
Have a fantastic week, all 🙂
Stephanie
Eve–the excerpt looks great! Love a strong heroine.
Best book? Lets just go with the last one I read this month and loved–Spiral Hunt.
Open Country by Kaki Warner kept me up all night, although I really enjoyed Private Arrangements by Sherry Thomas as well. Choices, choices…
I read so many books in a month it’s so hard. But hands down there are 2 very different but 2 exceptional reads for me. Lila’s “Awakened By A Kiss” and Pamela Palmer’s “Rapture Untamed. Loved them both.
Great excerpt from Sins of The Flesh. I really enjoyed it. I definitely have to put all Sins books on my TRL.A GFC follower under Lucky47. Newsletter subscriber +3
