Notre Dame—A Gothic masterpiece Where Louis XIV was married. Where Napoleon crowned himself Emperor of France. Pope Alexander III laid the foundation stone in 1163. It was finished in about 1345.
Notre Dame – South Rose Window. During the French Revolution many of the sculptures and other treasures of the cathedral were destroyed. The stained glass windows survived because they were taken down piece by piece and hidden.
My favorite bookstore in Paris! Owned by a Canadian gentleman, this bookshop is in an old abbey. All the history books are in the darkened basement. Love it!

Yes, the real Mona Lisa (mounted behind glass). The crush of people who were trying to get close to this beautiful painting by Leonardo da Vinci was unbelievable. c.1503 - 1506 Oil on wood.
