I want to say Huge Congratulations to Lila on the release of her second Fiery Tales, THE PRINCESS IN HIS BED! I loved AWAKENED BY A KISS and can’t wait to read the follow up.
There’s something magical about princesses and castles and Once Upon a Time. I’ve always loved stories about princesses, and used to write about them when I was a little girl. But I never dreamed I would one day write about them when I was grown up! Yet my debut romance from Berkley Heat, FORBIDDEN, has a heroine who is a Druid princess.
FORBIDDEN is set during the first century AD, during the Roman invasion of Britannia and while there aren’t any mystical castles, there is magic and intrigue and, of course, a brave warrior who could easily be a handsome prince from fairy tales. 🙂 There is no evil witch or malicious fairy but the villain is deliciously corrupt and manipulates power from the gods to his own nefarious ends. And, naturally, he’s out to get the heroine!
But like all the best fairy stories my princess finds her hero, and together they have to fight against all the odds to stand a chance of winning their very own Happily Ever After.
I have a copy of FORBIDDEN for one lucky commenter on my post.
QUESTION: Who is your favorite villain from fairy tales or Romance?

Hi Christina, Morning Lila! Favourite villain? The Big, Bad Wolf….of course! LOL.
The Evil Queen from “Snow White”! The Queen/Witch, was voiced by Lucille La Verne–which is a fabulous name for the woman giving life to such a flamboyant villainess : ) When the Queen, disguised as old Granny Apple, leans toward Snow White, offering her the poisoned apple with the words “have a bite”….whoohoohoohoo : (

Rowe from Jocelynn Drakes Dark Days series. In the first few books, he was written as crazy and the stuff he did was insane. In her last book we were able to see a different side to him and he even helped Mira out towards the end of the book, it was interesting to read a different side of him

Hi Kathy! Oh yes, the Big Bad Wolf!! One of my favourite villains!!
Hi Virginia! The Evil Queen from Snow White is a classic – she put me off eating red apples when I was a child!!
Hi Jolene, I love when we get to see a different side to the villain, so fascinating to see what makes them tick!
*waves* Hi everyone! Welcome to the Princess Blog Party. I love your answers! 🙂
Hi Christina! I’m so happy you’re here with us today! Doesn’t FORBIDDEN sound absolutely yummy, everyone?
As to my favorite villain in a fairy tale…hmmm…I don’t know if he’s my favorite, but he’s definitely the most disturbed…Bluebeard. The same man who first brought us Cinderella, brought us Bluebeard. (Charles Perrault). Some say this tale was likely the first serial killer story ever published. Bluebeard was my inspiration for the villain in A MIDNIGHT DANCE.
Hugs, all!
I am going to agree with Virginia. The Evil Queen is a good one. She is my absolute favorite Disney villain. I also like the Wicked Witch of the West from the Wizard of Oz.
I would say the wicked witch is my favorite.

Hi Christina
My favourite vilan would have to be the big bad wolf!
Hi Christina!
Forbidden looks and sounds great! My favorite villain from fairy tales or romance would have to be… the Red Queen from Alice in Wonderland. “Off with his head!” That’s an awesome line… I use it with my siblings all the time, lol:)

Hi Christina! A really intriguing excerpt – definitely want to keep reading! My favourite villain in Disney is the evil stepmother from Cinderella. Carolyn
The wicked stepmother from Cinderella is the worst. Women like her actually exist in real life which is why I find her the meanest villain.

Hi Christina! Nice to meet you here!
The most memorable fairy tale villain for me is Sleeping Beauty’s Maleficent (love that name). The evil fairy, the mistress of all evil!

The sheriff of Nottingham as played by Alan Rickman. He was the best thing in that Robin Hood movie.

I’m so enjoying your fairy tale responses, everyone! (I know, I’m a tad bias toward fairy tales…or rather, Fiery Tales. *grins*). Keep them coming!
Oh, and Christina, I wanted to thank you for the lovely compliment. I’m so delighted you enjoyed AWAKENED BY A KISS. 🙂
Hugs,
Lila
Hey Lila, do we have to put our points info everytime we comment?
The Wicked Witch of the West from the Wizard of Oz was pretty scary..but I think those flying monkeys were scarier!

Hi Danielle–No, you don’t have to keep repeating your points—unless you retweet or repeat on Facebook etc. 🙂
Hugs,
Lila
My most hated villain is the stepmom in Cinderella. She was all the more evil because it people like that actually exist in real life.

Another vote for Snow White’s uber-vain stepmother. She isn’t a scenery chewer (like Ursula, for example) which makes her all the more frightening. Maleficient at least has a reasonable grudge against Sleeping Beauty and her kin.

Hi everyone, thank you all for stopping by!
Lila, I remember being terrified after reading the story of Bluebeard! He was no Jack Sparrow!!
Hi Danielle and Maureen, the wicked witch is a wonderful villain!
Hi Elizabeth, love that big bad wolf!!
Thanks, yadkny! Oh I loved the Red Queen! she’s so much fun!!
Thanks for your kind words, Carolyn! The stepmother in Cinderella is truly spine-chilling!
Hi joder! You’re right, the wicked stepmother is one of the meanest villains.
Hi mrsshukra, nice to meet you too! Maleficent was so deliciously evil!!
Definitely the ‘big bad wolf’. As a kid I thought wolves actually walked upright and hid behind trees. lol
Christina–I love stories with Druids–look forward to reading Forbidden.
Hi mbreakfield, I *adore* Alan Rickman as the Sheriff of Nottingham! He was definitely the best thing in that movie!!! And a very worthy villain 🙂
Hi CrystalGB! That Evil Queen is definitely a fave!
Lila, you’re welcome 🙂 I’m looking forward to reading your next book of Fiery Tales!
Hi booklover0226! Yes i have to agree, those monkeys were very scary!!!
Thanks, Stephanie! Another vote for the Evil Queen!!
Hi Scorpio M! The stepmom in Cinderella was truly dreadful!
Hi Sheree, yes I loved the understated evil, it makes it much more frightening!
Disney witches were always wonderfully evil but the one that has to get top billing is from Snow White — she really had to work for it, all while having to deal with poor help and an insolent mirror and it took seven miners & a prince to beat her 😉

Hi Victoria! Thank you so much! A couple of years ago I watched a movie that told the story from the big bad wolf’s perspective – if only I could remember what it was called! It was great fun 🙂
gamistress66, lol, she did have to work hard, didn’t she! I loved that mirror!
Hi Lila and Christina,
Congrats Christina on your debut romance from Berkley Heat, Forbidden.
I’ll go with “Ursula” and that wicked and evil laugh from the Little Mermaid.

Hi Christina!! I’m Aussie too 😉 I’m guessing this is international? lol Must say Forbidden has a very beautiful cover that stands out in any genre! My favorite villains are the ones who aren’t black and white and aren’t ‘strictly’ villains. I can’t think of any complex bad guys like this from the top of my head atm but it’s definitely not one from a Disney movie, they’re not given a chance to tell their side of the story so who’s to say they’re really villains or are they just villainous in comparison to or towards the protagonist/s??? +3 I… Read more »
I think my fav is the witch in The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe….Narnian chronicles.

My favorite villain is the Wicked Witch from the West (from the Wizard of Oz…if that counts as a fairytale). If you’ve read the book or seen the musical “Wicked”, then you can actually really sympathize with her!
Stephanie
Thank you, Carol! I love The Little Mermaid, Ursula had a truly wicked laugh!
Hi Camille, fellow Aussie!! Yes, this is international 🙂 Thanks for kind words on the cover – I love it! And I agree, I love discovering what makes a villain the way she/he is, they are generally very complex characters!
Hi Valerie! The witch in the Narnia Chronicles is one of my very first favorite villains from childhood, I still read those books every few years!
Hi Stephanie! The Wicked Witch from the West is another great fave!!
